Этно-джазовый проект Baraka из Риги продолжает свое погружение в таинственный мир восточного искусства. Источником вдохновения для нового альбома коллектива с выразительным названием «Голе Сангам» (Женские песни) послужила иранская, афганская и таджикская любовная лирика, насчитывающая тысячелетнюю историю.

Основным голосом «Голе Сангам» стала живущая в Европе певица Зарина Таджибаева -истинная носительница таджикской песенной традиции, которой помогает в вокальных партиях постоянная солистка группы Девика Евсикова. Еще одна гостья арт-проекта – исполнительница Иран Раихи, читает стихи современных иранских поэтов под живой аккомпанемент группы. Старинные персидские тексты и современная среднеазиатская эстрада сплетаются на альбоме с затейливыми джазовыми импровизациями и сладкозвучными нотками лаунжа в подобие пестрого восточного ковра. Единое музыкальное полотно гармонично вбирает в себя индийские таблу и ситар, джазовый саксофон и гитару, партии фортепьяно и баса.

Альбом «Голе Сангам», несомненно, является связующим мостом между столь разными культурами Востока и Запада. Современные аранжировки делают экзотические любовные песни близкими для слуха городского жителя, а джаз – построенный на распространенной в персидской музыкальной традиции импровизации – сближает получившийся звук с восточными стандартами красоты.


Ethno-Jazz project Baraka based in Riga (Latvia) continues its plunge into the mysterious world of oriental art. The new album was inspired by a thousand year old history of lyrical poetry from Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

The main voice of "Gole Sangam" is a true bearer of the Tajik song tradition, a singer named Zarina Tadjibaeva, who's presently residing in Europe. She is assisted by the band permanent soloist Devika Evsikova and one more guest of the art project – performer Iran Raihi who reads verses of modern Iranian poets to the accompaniment of the band.

Ancient Persian ghazals and modern Central Asian pop music are intertwined with intricate jazz improvisations and mellifluous notes of lounge into a motley likeness of a Persian carpet.

"Gole Sangam" should certainly bridge yet another gap between the East and the West.
