about

Album "Ymai" named after ancient Turks goddess of fertility represents the meeting of two generations of folk musicians from South Siberia. First part of records is an art of young trio from Khakassia called Uch Summer (Uch Sumer is the second highest mountain in Russia, which borders three countries: China, Mongolia, and Kazakhstan. It also means 'three wisdoms' or 'three peaks'). They played traditional tunes on regional instruments (such as tchatkan, khomys, orba and tuur) and sing folk songs using the traditional style of throat-singing called khai. The second half of the album features the music of legendary Khakass singer, actress and shamaness Alisa Kyzlasova, whose music inspired these young musicians to start working on this album and who guided them in learning of the traditional performers art.

The album «Ymai» is a result of artistic cooperation of some young musicians from the Altai and Khakassia, assisted by famous khakass folk singer and hereditary shamaness Alisa Kyzlasova.
